The fact that they don't have char slots up for purchase this weekend is just flat out stupid on their part. They are gonna lose a lotta money because of that fact.

What's actually grating about the store is that they haven't told us what is wrong yet. If it is a big fix, and we have to find some OTHER way of doing things, I'd really like to know that. At the moment I'm just hanging out hoping they will have it fixed soon. For all I know I could spend the whole weekend waiting for a fix that isn't going to be out until next week. If this is the case it would be easier to find a friend who is playing this weekend and crash at their place for a night.

Kuja, certainly it is short, but that doesn't mean that we don't want to try. Furthermore, the more people who test, the better and more comprehensive the results.

No, because some people, have perfectly UAX pve accounts and pvp with their pve characters that they have spent bank on.
I myself, am dissapointed that guest accounts or anything, really, were not offered for us to test and check out the dervish and the paragon for the weekend.
I'll be damned if I am deleting one of my long time and perfect pve characters for a 3 day fling.

Yes, a lot of people can't bear to delete a pve character just to try out some new proffesions for a weekend, so yes we can't delete a character.
BTW, there is more to pve than just getting to level 20....

Actually, Gaile has said on some threads both on this site, and the other top guildwars fan site, that there is a bug with the store that they need to fix before they release it again. That and they need to prepare for the barage of everyone trying to get in at the same time. It couldn't handle it more so they needed to improve it. Unfortunatley, Gaile hasn't said anything about when the store will be back (at least that I know of...).

If it can't handle lots of users at this point in time, that is a sure sign that it won't be out this weekend. In fact I imagine they will not release it till the weekend is well and truly done, just to be on the safe side. Further to that they will probably release it at a non-peak time so they can fix any small bugs before traffic really heats up.
So now the question is to go to a friend's place, or get my friends to come to my flat... *forsees a weekend long party...*

If you have one of the accounts from the factions previews, it still works for this event.

I want to sign that petition. Seriously, I'm not going to delete on of my characters and no, I in general don't give a flip about PvP beyond what my PvE characters can do (which is pretty much everything, and they have better looking armor to boot). It's pretty stupid how I can't even change my secondary to one of the new classes. Kinda makes me annoyed. It's interesting how Anet seems to want to exclude some of their more dedicated players..

i used my free slot to unlock ele faction stuff. heard about the buyable slots and kept her. i think arenanet was (like me) hoping for those slots to be available before tonight.
they're still working on the store and it might be out tomorrow for all we know. got all weekend to die miserably in ra from being in noob d and p groups so relax for now. if you don't get the chance to try it out now, just read all the forum posts about the new professions and learn that way.
the dervish animations are awesome btw.

Personally I use two RP and one PvP character in my slots standard, and the moment I am done with a new PvP character after trying it a bit, it tends to get deleted, so I have half of my slots open all of the time.
That having been said, I do not expect anyone to have to delete a character to try out the new professions, if you can be bothered to level most of your slots to 20 and get them to be viable characters, and fill excess slots with PvP characters that have a legacy, I don't see why that is a bad thing at all, you practically deserve an extra slot at least.
Plus I wish they would have unlocked all Dervish and Paragon skills for the duration of the weekend.

I wonder what that three legged scumbag is dawdling at the moment? Or more precisely why is she keeping so hushhush about this? Probably getting herself blasted on that German beer. Have one me you good folks at Anet and choke on it!

yes I have sent a message to Anet and they told me to look on the sites, Im sorry they are the ones to make slots available. the Beata in general is for them and thier testing not a plus or added gift for us. yes we get to see content and new classes but mainly a Beta is for there testing and working on new bugs.
For the Factions weekends they gave usa clients a code, on GW main site, to load and create a new account. and folks over seas got a diffrent code. They didnt give us a code, so unless you deleate one of your toons, all 6 of mine are lvl 20 and all are farmers or group players, I dont play PvP I like to play the GAME.
But for them to screw up the store the day before, is just one more thing, yes you can NOW play with a slot that you purchase for the free weekend for 10.00 but that feature dont even work, well as of this morning.
Not looking good for there beta if they only have a few 1,000 playing it instead of 50,000 +, but hey, they KNOW what they are doing, or so we HOPE hehe.

I was very disapointed that the slots were postponed. I have been saving weapons, materials and runes for a couple of weeks now to make a necromancer.
I think it would be a good idea if they would release the store in the middle of the night. Like 6.00 A.M. GMT or something. At that time it's still pretty late(may not be late to some people....whatever) in America too so they probably won't have a huge flow of people trying to get into the store at the same time. I'm still really looking forward to the character slots and I hope they will reach us soon.

If you set up an account for the last FPE you can still use that for this weekend. I'm doing it right now. works fine but you have no access to factions professions.

Here is an Idea
Take one of your lvl20's and test the new classes as secondary, that way you don't have to delete.

Have you actually done this? I took my PvE ele to the profession changer and he doesn't show either new profession. He only give me the option on a PvP character.
